RTMP Stats

To view your RTMP stats,

  • Go to System from the navigation menu and click Viewers Report.

  • In viewers report page, go to RTMP Stats, where you can get the statistics report of your streaming channels.

Transcoding

Adaptive bitrate streaming (Transcoding) is available only in the higher-end versions of Livebox.

   If you are streaming and you want to carry out the same streaming across your other channel, then you can take through your video to the other channel by using Transcoding. Transcoding also helps to achieve yourself in adjusting your stream with your viewer’s video quality.
So, to start off with transcoding,
  • Create both output and input server channels in Livebox.
  • Go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu. Under manage channels, click Transcoding.

  • A Transcoding page opens up and you can select your Input channel by clicking the drop-down menu given in the Select a Channel option.

  • In Output Channels, select the channel where the video has to be transcoded. Then give Turn ON near transcoding.

  • Once you give the turn on, new options for transcoding shows up, where you can set the Preset. And then click Save.
    Note: Livebox will generate both Transcode Output URL and Transcode Embed Code.

  • After clicking save, give Service Restart to get your changes applied.

Now you have to stream a source using any encoder of your preference. 

  • So go to Manage Channels from the Livebox navigation menu and copy the Streaming RTMP URL and Stream Key of your Input channel and use it on your encoder stream settings.

  • Start the live stream. And then go to the Livebox Dashboard where you can check the transcoding quality of your output channel near the bottom right corner.

  • To check RTMP stats of your streaming channel go to the Viewers Report.

  • And when you embed the output channel streams on your website, you can copy the Transcode Embed URL to publish the live stream on your website.

Note:  Through the Transcode Embed URL, you can publish the streaming content along with the transcode video quality.

Transcoding Using the Inbuilt Playout and Encoder Software

Adaptive bitrate streaming (Transcoding) is available only in the higher-end versions of Livebox.

  • Create both output and input server channels in Livebox.
  • Then go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu under which click Transcoding.

  • A Transcoding page opens up. Under Select a Channel, select your Input channel.

  • In Output Channels, select the channel where the video has to be transcoded. Then give Turn on near transcoding.

  • Once you give a turn on, the new options for transcoding show up, where you can set the Preset. And then click Save.
    Note: Both the Transcode Output URL and Transcode Embed Code are generated by Livebox.

  • After clicking save, give Service Restart to get your changes applied and to start off with your transcoding.

  • Then go to Livebox Playout software and click Add File to browse video source from your PC and to add video source in your Schedule Playlist.

  • Your video source is added. So, now click Play to play your video in Playout Preview.

  • You can preview your source and also enable and adjust the audio of your video source.

  • Now go to Livebox streaming server.
  • Then go to Channel Dashboard under Manage Channels from the navigation menu.
  • In Channel Dashboard click Streaming URL to copy the streaming RTMP URL of your Input Channel.
  • Go to Livbox Encoder. Select your playout device in Video Device and Audio Device, and then enter the copied RTMP URL in the URL tab.
  • Click Preview if you want to preview your live stream and then give Start.

  • Now go to the Livebox Dashboard where you can check the transcoding quality of your output channel near the bottom right corner.

Transcoding Using OBS Studio

Adaptive bitrate streaming (Transcoding) is available only in the higher-end versions of Livebox.

To Transcode using OBS,
  • Keep your streaming channels ready i.e., output channel and input channel.
  • Now under Manage Channels, go to Transcoding.

  • A Transcoding page opens up and you can select your Input channel by clicking the drop-down menu given in the Select a Channel option.

  • In Output Channels, select the channel where the video has to be transcoded. Then give Turn On near transcoding.

  • A pop-up menu with the listed options will show up. From the listed options select Media source.

  • A dialog box Create/Select Source gets opened where you can name and set as per your requirements and then click OK.

  • After clicking OK, a dialog box Properties for Media Source gets opened. In Properties for Media Source, select the required options for your streaming and then click Browse.

  • Once you click to browse you get accessed to your local files where you can browse and select your source. Then Click OK and your source is added.

  • Now go to Livebox and select Manage channels from the navigation menu and click Streaming URL to copy the Streaming URL and Stream Key of your Input channel.

  • Then go to OBS studio and select Settings under the menu Controls.

  • A whole Setting tab will be opened and click Stream.
  • In OBS stream settings page, enter the Stream URL and Stream Key of your streaming channel.

  • Now go to the Livebox Dashboard where you can check the transcoding quality of your output channel near the bottom right corner.

To start off transcoding with vMix encoder,
  • Keep your streaming channels ready i.e., output channel and input channel.
  • Then go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu. Under manage channels, click Transcoding.

  • After selecting your source, click OK. And your source is added.

  • Now go to the Livebox Channel Dashboard under Manage Channels from the navigation menu and click Streaming URL to copy the streaming RTMP URL of your Input channel.

  • Then go to vMix and click Stream. A new dialog box Streaming Settings opens, where you can enter the copied streaming URL in the URL tab and enter the Stream name or Key. And then give Start.

  • After giving a start, go to the vMix main page and click the icon to play your source.

  • Now go to the Livebox Dashboard where you can check the transcoding quality of your output channel near the bottom right corner.

Transcoding Using Wirecast

To conduct transcoding using Wirecast,
 
  • Keep your streaming channels ready i.e., output channel and input channel.
  • Now go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu. Under manage channels, click Transcoding.

  • A Transcoding page opens up and you can select your Input channel by clicking the drop-down menu on the Select a Channel option.

  • In Output Channels, select the channel where the video has to be transcoded. Then give Turn on near transcoding.

  • Then go to the Wirecast main window, and click the icon add source icon to add your source.

  • Many options to add your source appears.
  • To capture and add your USB webcam source, you can click the option Video Capture and to stream live your local files, click the Add Media File option and select your local files.

  • Your source is added. As you wanted to live stream click the icon wirecast icon to push your source to Live Broadcast Area.

  • After pushing your source to live broadcast area, click Output located at the top left side.

  • Under the output’s pulled-down menu, click Output Settings.

  • A Select an Output Destination dialog box opens, where choose your destination as RTMP Server and click OK, and a new output setting tab opens.

  • Now go to Manage Channels from the Livebox navigation menu and copy the Streaming RTMP URL and Stream Key of your Input channel.

  • Then paste the RTMP Streaming URL in the Address box and enter the stream key in Stream bar and give OK.

  • Now click the stream icon from the top left side to start streaming.

  • Now go to the Livebox Dashboard where you can check the transcoding quality of your output channel near the bottom right corner.
