Livebox maintains secure privacy to its users. Though piracy can’t be eradicated, yet they can be controlled to some extent. To restrict your streams,

  • Go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu and click Channel Settings.

  • Under Channel Setting, go to Restrictions, where you can see restrictions for the domain, IP, stream, and Geo-blocking.

-To restrict any domain/websites, turn on Domain restrictions for the player.
-To restrict any IP/websites address, turn on IP restrictions for the player.
-To restrict your streams to only selected IP/websites, turn on Stream restrictions.
-To restrict your stream on the country basis, turn on Geo-blocking.

To restrict your streams,

  • Select the Channel to which you want to restrict its streams.
  • Turn ON the preferred restriction.
  • Enter the domain/IP address or country you want to restrict your streams.
  • After entering the domain/IP/country in the bar, click on the add icon

  • You have added the IP/domain/ country to restrict your streams and now click Save.

Free SSL Certificate

Secure Socket Layer certificates are digital files which provide privacy and security for your both domain and user’s personal information. On installing an SSL certificate to your domain, the protocol HTTP will change to HTTPs, so that it makes your domain’s communications between a website and an internal browser encrypted and secure.
In Livebox streaming server you can generate your SSL certificates cost-free within a few steps.
Note: Renew your SSL certificates every 12 months.
  • The domain with no SSL certificate encryption are those with the Not secure indication on the URL tab of your Livebox server.

In order to secure your domain, you have to generate SSL certificate and encrypt your domain.

To ENABLE your SSL certificate for FREE
  • Click Settings from the navigation menu.
  • Under settings, click Security and a Privacy Settings page opens.

  • In the Privacy Settings page, go to SSL Certificates page.

  • Near the SSL certificate mapped on option, you click the plus icon to select the domain to which you want to enable SSL certificate encryption.

  • Once you click the plus icon, a dialog box Free SSL Certificate Form opens.
  • Select the domain domain to which you want to encrypt the SSL certificate. 
  • Mention your mail ID and then click the Secure this website button.

SSL certificate for your domain will be  enabled within a few seconds. 

In the case if you want to add any NEW domain of yours,

  • Near the New domain name, enteryour new domain name. (only a valid domain or a domain purchased from the domain name registrar should be entered)
  • Mention your mail ID and then click the Secure this website button.

Now your new domain will be added as well as encrypted. 

  • Now back on SSL certificate page, click the highlighted icon to mark your domain as the default server. (this is optional only in the case of making the encrypted domain as the default server)

  • Once after setting your domain as the default server, you can see your new domain name being replaced in all the places where the previous domain name existed.

And if you want to RENEW your server’s SSL certificate,

  • Select your domain that needs SSL certificate renewal. 
  • Then click the renew icon.

  • Enter your mail ID, and click on the Renew SSL Certificate button to renew your SSL certificate.

SSL certificate of your domain will be renewed within a few seconds. 

  • And on the URL bar of your Livebox server, you can now see that your site is secured i.e., HTTPs encrypted.

  • You can even click the lock icon to get more information about your domain’s SSL certificate.
  • And if you click on the Certificate, you can get your certificate information as well.

Note: If your website still shows the status Not secure, then go Service Monitor and restart your services.

By following these steps you can encrypt your server cost-free.

 

Privacy Security

   To protect your server from cyber-attacks, it is always recommendable to turn on privacy and security controls on your server. There are few privacy and security controls provided by Livebox server to keep your domain server safe and secure.
  1. Protect from DDoS attack: If you turn on this setting, then you can keep your server safe from any targeted attacks which cause disruption to your services.
  2. Protect your TCP/IP ports: If you turn on this setting, then you can keep other ports closed or deny access to your server.
  3. Streaming Server Tokens: If you turn on this setting, then you can keep your server information closed to other sources.
Note: All these security settings are highly recommendable to keep your server safe and secure.

To enable privacy and security,

  • Go to Settings from the navigation menu.

  • A Privacy Settings page opens, where click on Privacy Security.

  • In Privacy Security page turn on all the three options and click Save to get the privacy security settings applied to your server.

By enabling these settings, you can keep your Livebox streaming server safe and secure from cyber attacks.

Resetting a Channel Password

To reset your channel password,
  • Go to Manage Channels from the navigation menu and select Edit a Channel.

  • An Edit Channels page opens, where select the channel that needs a password reset near Select a Channel option. Then enter your new password near Password and click Save.

  • Now give Service Restart to get your password reset applied to your channel.

By following these steps you can change your channel password as you wish.

Resetting a Sub-user Password

To reset your sub-user password,
  • Go to System from the navigation menu and under system select User & Roles.

  • A User & Roles page opens. Go to Add User and click the icon resetting sub-user password to reset your sub-user password.

  • An Add User page opens where enter your new password near Password and then give Add.

  • Your password is changed and you can view your updates in the User List.

By following these steps you can reset your sub-user password.

Resetting Livebox Server Password

   It is the master admin who has the power to change the Livebox streaming server password. So hello master admin, to reset your server password please follow the below-listed steps.

  • Go to Settings from the navigation menu. Under settings click Security.

  • A Privacy Settings page opens, where you can enter your new username and password.

  • After confirming your password, click Reset.

You have now successfully changed your password. The next time you log in don’t forget to give your new username and password.

Reverse Proxy Settings

   Reverse proxy settings are in-built in Livebox streaming server. To secure and to protect your server against white-labeling, and to get pretty URLs, enable the reverse proxy setting.
Note: Changing reverse proxy settings may affect the functioning of the Livebox server. Hence, it is recommended to contact our support team before making changes in the reverse proxy settings. To enable the reverse proxy settings,

  • Go to Settings from the navigation menu and click the HTTP Settings.

  • A reverse proxy setting page opens, where you can get pretty URL for your server applications. You can even change those URLs by typing the new URL in the given bar under each application and then click the Save button.

Note: If you have a high number of concurrent viewers, skip the reverse proxy settings for the player application alone.

Paid SSL Certificate

In order to secure your domain, you have to generate an SSL certificate and encrypt your domain. To generate your SSL certificate from your certificate authority, follow the below steps:
  • Click Settings from the navigation menu.
  • Under settings, click Security, a new Privacy Settings page opens.

  • In Privacy Settings page click the SSL Certificates option to generate your SSL certificate.

  • Near the SSL certificate mapped on option, you can use the provided drag-down menu to select the domain to which you want to enable SSL certificate encryption.
  • If you want to add any NEW domain follow the steps given here. (So, after creating the new domain, back here in the SSL certificate page you can select your newly added domain name on the SSL certificate mapped on option.)

  • Then under the Request Form, you can just fill your details and then click Generate Request to generate a certificate in requisition to your certificate authority.

  • Once you click the option Generate Request, your request file will be downloaded to your local files.
  • The request gets downloaded in the Zip format, extract it and then click on the extracted Certification folder.

  • Copy the files inside the Certification folder. And send the files to your certificate authority website.
  • The certificate authority, in turn, sends the response certificate.
  • Download the SSL response certificate and SSL response key and upload it under Certificate Response in Livebox SSL Certificate page.

  • If you want to set this domain as your default domain you can click the icon as mentioned on the below illustration.

  • So now, back to the Livebox dashboard, you can see your new domain name being replaced in all the places where the previous domain name existed.

  • And on the URL bar of your Livebox server, you can now see that your site is now secured i.e., HTTPs encrypted.

  • And if you click on the Certificate, you can get your certificate information as well.
